Bakkeri année

For almost ten years, I was commissioned to make the window displays for Bakkerij Année, a bakery in Amsterdam. The displays were very diverse, but what linked them was that they all featured objects made solely out of cellotape and the paper bags used to wrap the bread. The bags were white with dark green stripes, an orange yin yang symbol and a short text about the bakery in orange writing. By limiting myself in this way I challenged myself to distill an endless array of shapes and forms from a single simple pattern. You can find a text by Willem Ellenbroek on the displays here (in Dutch).
